A thread lift can lift, contour and suspend the sagging tissues of the face and neck. It has been referred to as the Suture Suspension Facelift, or APTOS Lift . The APTOS Lift can provide a fast, minimally invasive, beautiful restoration of sagging facial structures with very little down time.

The specialized threads used in this procedure are called APTOS threads. These fine threads have small soft barbs or "cogs" along the length of the thread, much like barbs on a fishhook. These cogs provide lift and contour by forming a permanent support structure that holds the resuspended facial tissue. A full face APTOS Lift would require a minimum of 22 threads, usually 2 for each brow, 3 for each cheek, 2 for each jaw line, 2 for the jowls on both sides, and 2 for each side of the neck, although not everyone needs a full lifting procedure. The threads are introduced with a fine needle so the puncture sites are small and heal very quickly, usually without any marks.
The best candidate for the APTOS Lift technique is someone with early facial aging, with mild to moderate loosening or sagging of the facial skin. Typically, the facial areas can be treated individually or together - the brow, the cheeks, the jowls, the jawline, and the neck. Individuals with more severe aging changes and sagging may also be candidates as long as their expectations are realistic. If you are in good physical and emotional/mental health, have realistic expectations, no serious health issues, normal skin thickness, and the desire to rid yourself of loose sagging tissue of the face and neck, you may be a good candidate for an APTOS Lift. The main advantages are that there is typically less downtime than with traditional facelift techniques, there are no incisions, and the procedure is quick and requires only local anesthesia.
If you have significant laxity, a more extensive procedure may be more appropriate. Also, if you are considering losing weight you may want to wait until after your weight loss goal is met. Weight loss may be associated with increased skin laxity, and you may need additional lifting or other procedure to reduce excess skin after you have lost the desired weight.
